Again, Stevie is up there at the very very very top

Seeing Timmy with dmb or dave, that isn't Timmy, that's dmb+t or D&T. If you are talking about d&t and dmb+t, stevie is better, hands down. The minute you get him away from that part of music, and into his realm during a show of his, and it makes your jaw drop. He doesn't always play fast, he only does super fast for about 3-4 songs on a 14 track album. Does a lot more experimental stuff, and really talent on a 12. Some of his most beautiful songs are on Nomadic Wavelength during some of the first 5 songs on a solo twelve string martin, and it just is so beautiful and so inspiring.

Again

d&t v SRV = SRV
dmb+t v SRV = SRV
Tim Reynolds v SRV = Tim Reynolds.

Well, see, I have been to a TR3 show, and was completely underwhelmed. Are you talking a solo show or with his band?

this is exactly what i was thinking. i've ONLY seen tim play with dave so he doesn't get as much time to show off as stevie did (i watched the Austin city limits dvd) so when i was watching the dvd i was wondering if timmy could pull this stuff off but i honestly didn't know because i've never seen him play on his own like that before.

so besides ranting thespian, everyone says SRV is better :?

I saw Tim live, solo, and I completely disagree. He is not the greatest guitar player of all time. Yes, he is a very very good player; he is technical and fast. However, I think that there are other guitarists more technically proficient, faster and more melodically inclined. If you know who Joe Pass was or who Leo Kottke is, I think you know what I'm talkin about.

Good SRV songs...? I don't know any...

anyone care to send me some suggestions? :D
Crossfire, Little Wing (a Hendrix song, but he does a really cool cover of it), Texas Flood, Pride and Joy, Empty Arms--these are all great songs that showcase his talent. If you were looking to buy just one CD of his, I would go with the SRV Greatest Hits, Vol. 1. Go listen to his music! If you like the blues at all, you will love it.

Stevei is one of the best there ever was, but come on. Go see a live timmy solo show, and you will see what he is, without a glimpse of dmb ever.

Timmy is the greatest guitarist of all time, hands down. I don't care about what anyone says, I have a SRV dvd, and I still like timmy more.

SRV, agian, fucking awesome guitarist, but timmy, there is no one better.
Idiot.
