Well, I have written 53 songs, many styles. I play constantly. I always come up with unfinished tunes and riffs all the time. I do nothing but think, dream, and breath music and guitar.

Damn yes I want to do it as a profession. It's my life, and I can feel it will be the rest of my life. All I want to do is write, record, tour, and play, non stop. I love being on the road, I love it when I really get down to record and mix a track, or get up on stage (I love going onstage, and always have) and just give it my all.

It is what I am working on, going pro. It's my life goal.

Best Wishes!

"Next up, from Wisconsin, the RANTING THESPIANS!!!!"
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I have much respect for that profession. I went to school with a guy who builds for Santa Cruz now.

Thats exactly the attitude you need so hold on to that passion. I feel the same way in a lot of respects but I just don't think I'm cut out for it. Photography has always been what I'm best at but if it doesn't work out I will most likely go into the music biz.

I'm a junior in HS and I have no idea what I want to do..

Prolly something with computers.. but that's a Broad subject.

I wish I were good enough to do something in music.. I wish I would've started at an earlier age.

i wanted to major in music for a looooong time, through most of middle school and almost all of high school, but begining of junior year i wasnt sure if it was what i wanted to do the rest of my life. I play tons of crap - trumpet, i've been playing for almost 10 years, and i was pretty much the best my school had ever seen, not to toot my own horn (ha..get it? its a pun...ah forget it). but i didnt pick up guitar till a year ago, so including that wasnt anything i considered. but i have lots of friends at berklee, and i've been there bunches of times and know people, because thats where i was going to go, but you have to be in the top like 2%, or have something really original, to really make it. one of my friends plays guitar and goes there, jazz performance and compisition, and he's ridicilious on the guitar. he's been on stage before with trey anastasio. i didnt think i had "the stuff" if you will, to continue it for any extended period of time. but eh, i'm happy with my choices.

now i go to school on the cape cod canal, where it's 8 degrees, and for lab's they throw us in the water. oh where my road has lead me. i'll either major in marine saftey and environmental protection, and work on a cruise ship after i graduate, or marine engineering, and graduate with a 3rd engineer's unlimited lisence. depends on how sea term treats me.

no matter what you do, think it over, and make sure you're happy. not everything out there is for everyone

im done rambling

edit because i cannot spell for the life of me

I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

I think everyone gets caught up in the, "I wanna write and perform songs for the rest of my life" thing, and it's very, very noble, but that's not exactly what the music industry is about unfortunately...it's a business, first and foremost.

which is why i am choosing to focus on the technological aspect of music. it will be much more practical and i will still be able to be around music and participate in it
