Wait till you get better.

What about painting? Certain brushes work a lot better for certain techniques. Sculpting? Whether you choose clay, marble, ice, etc. makes a big difference. Sure its art, but you want to choose an instrument that accents your particular tastes and strenghs.

well, as I can see the Martin is pulling ahead by one vote. I am so frusterated by this desision that I am going crazy. I just wish I could go to someplace with both guitars and play both....blindfolded.

play them both and pick the one that you like better. That's what I would do in your situation.

i'd take that bet. i had a 614, 714, 814, and 914 all lined up when i bought my guitar, and they all have their own sound.

beauford, i'd go with the 914ce myself, but like i said, you might want to consider a custom 814 with an engleman top. same wood as the 914 but like $1000 less. and ALL taylors play the same. they all have the same action and use the same necks (except the 600's which have maple necks). so, you're not going to get a better playing guitar in the 914...just the engleman top and of course 9 lbs of abalone.
"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

If you really wanted something cool, cuz I am pretty sure that the DM3MD is a mix of a D-35 and an HD-28V, you can have the one of the two guitars from Martin Custom made to the specs of the DM3MD. It would probably run maybe as much as a 914. The only thing is that you wouldn't get the limited serial number that comes with the DM3MD.

peace
