yeah, you have to watch that. I went from like 10 to 9 on my Telecaster and it cause some pain in the ass buzzing... so you might want to stick with your 11's. if not you should take it to a dealer and get the action set with the new 10's

I'm very interested in this as well. Anyone help out? Can I do it myself? I've taken mine to a guitar store and they charged me $15. It needs it again. Mine is very high.

Action can be strange thing. I just had mine raised. I got a little buzzing around the 3rd fret on the 3 and 4 strings sometimes, plus I played a friends guitar and his action was slightly higer than mine and I could mute a lot better and I could play everything as I could before. So I decided to go a little higher. After some searching it appears standard action for most acoustic guitars is about 1/8inch @ 12th fret. Some vary from bass side to treble side. My stuff is slightly higher than an 1/8".

Mine is just around 1/8 inch at the 12th fret. I had mine done at AL&M in Norfolk by their guitar technician Kenny Marshall (I think that is his name, great guy)...he has done guitar set up for Dave Matthews as well as Carlos Santana.

The one thing he really tried to talk me into, which I took his advice, was to change out my fret wires to a heavier gage...it really made a difference after I got use to it.

I great website about guitar maintance, including adjusting action can be found here. http://www.frets.com/FRETSPages/pagelist.html

The main way to lower action, as you will read and see with pictures, is simply taking the saddle out, assuming you have a drop in, and using sandpaper to lessen the height.

I bought my guitar from the place where that guy who runs frets.com works.

Gryphon Stringed Instruments.

I didn't know about that site. Thanks so much for posting it. I've learned tons just in the last few minutes. I'm trying to figure out if I've got the right tools to lower my action now.
