hmmm, cause like ive got an acoustic modulation pedal and i usually actually use it mostly with my electric cause i can get a cleaner sound and the distortion will be totally controlled by me. is that like dangerous, i mean like aparently it is but ive never heard of this.dmbguitar718 wrote:Oh, sorry. Well I was told that basically - they're not made for electric guitars, and when used with them, the chances of blowing the amp are much greater. It's not made to handle all the electric shit.

well you're using an electric amp, right? you should be fine then, i guess. it's when you go electric guitar -> acoustic amp where you run some risks. i'll do some googling and see what i can come up with.filmdude100cms wrote:hmmm, cause like ive got an acoustic modulation pedal and i usually actually use it mostly with my electric cause i can get a cleaner sound and the distortion will be totally controlled by me. is that like dangerous, i mean like aparently it is but ive never heard of this.dmbguitar718 wrote:Oh, sorry. you'll never 'blow' an acoustic amp by playing an electric through itdmbguitar718 wrote:Oh, sorry. Well I was told that basically - they're not made for electric guitars, and when used with them, the chances of blowing the amp are much greater. It's not made to handle all the electric shit.

blowing a speaker is caused by excessive volume/power being driven through it... an electric guitar isnt any "louder" than an acoustic
any amp with play anything that you plug into it.. it wont cause any harm
that said... any old hobo can get a job at guitar center (or any other shop), i wouldnt take someone's advice unless you know the person is experienced

well, this guy was over 50, and it was his shop. (this place is no guitar center, it may be the most respectable music store ive been to) he's had the shop in his family for years, so i kinda trusted him. you may be right though.crash_in_to_me wrote:blowing a speaker is caused by excessive volume/power being driven through it... an electric guitar isnt any "louder" than an acoustic
