What I mean is that everytime I take my pinky off to hit another note it flies way up in the air..no matter how hard I try it seems like when I am hitting other notes with other fingers my pinky just wants to fly up in the air, obviously reducing speed and accuracy. Is this normal? I am hoping that it is just that my muscles in my pinky aren't strong enough yet (due to lack of doing these exercises years ago) to have good control..Anyway if anyone can shoot some tips or hope my way let me know, cause right now it just feels like I have smoked too much pot and my brain doesn't operate my pinky and probably a lot of other things for that matter.
just incorporate your pinky in everything you play and run alot of 1-2-3-4 exercises
1 finger/fret take your time and do them correctly

pot helps in certain areas, creative wise (acutally this could be argued in another threat and i'm sure it has) but with regards to your pinky, don't give up, do these exercises slowly and then vuild up your speed, it's like baseball players that hit off of a tee, it's all muscle memory, your fingers and hands will do whatever you want as long as they can do something accurately slow, they WILL be able to do it fast.

I would just play them as 8th notes at whatever tempo works for you. Though I'm not sure if you're serious or not.

My favorite picking exercise is Flight of the Bumblebee. I'll tab it out in a little bit.
