yeah i have this problem too ... not to toot my own horn or anything but i have a pretty good voice as far as mechanics go and hitting pitches and tone and stuff but its tough for me to sing well or loud when playing guitar. ive only been playing for like 6 months though

Most likely. But that shouldn't matter, if you're playing unplugged, you should sound louder than the guitar at the appropriate times.

Watchtower is loud when banging open chords... but yea, I can sing over it.

2 years here and im not good at singing and playing but i dont practice it nearly enough (singing while playing)

I'm not a great singer by any means, but I have noticed I have gotten more compliments from people when I sing from my gut and project clearly and loudly. I have a tendency to tongue kiss the fucking mic but proper projection helps a lot.
