I have to say, I just have always loved the intro to Money For Nothing by Dire Straits (known as the MTV song).

Definitely Stairway,

I love Warren Haynes on Jimi off CP

but one of the best all-time solos is David Gilmour's solo in Pink Floyd's Mother

Yeah. My folks have been playing them since I was little. Also, I got Mark Knoupher's (head runner, and guitarist for Dire Straits) Sailing to Philadelphia, and that album is great. I love the title track with James Taylor.

311 - Stealing Happy Hours

Simple to play, but absolutely beautiful, and it fits the song perfectly. Also one of the greatest songs ever written, in my humble opinion.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

Little Wing - SRV, the entire song

Freebird in a close second

I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

Yeah, I have always loved the Freebird solo, but my favorite is probably the one from "Frantic" by On Second Thought (a Boulder, CO band)
