Does anyone else hold their pick like this(also strum?)

This is the place to talk about guitar playing not done by Dave! Topics about techniques, styles, theory, and other guitarists go here.

You remind of the Simpsons episode where Burns tells Mattingly to shave the sideburn and he keeps getting yelled and then he shaves the strip in his head.

Nope, my fingers are all closed. It is more comfortable, but the disadvantage is that if you are strumming really hard, you can tear your knuckles on the strings.

I sometimes strum with my knuckles, makes a cool effect.

strumming with the side of your thumb (kinda like slapping) is cool too.

I've also plucked from under one stiring and just kinda whack it with a finger on another string

I love to slap my guitar a la bass, but it can start hurting like a bitch after a while.

I actually do that for a few songs a friend and I wrote.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.
