Stevei is one of the best there ever was, but come on. Go see a live timmy solo show, and you will see what he is, without a glimpse of dmb ever.

Timmy is the greatest guitarist of all time, hands down. I don't care about what anyone says, I have a SRV dvd, and I still like timmy more.

SRV, agian, fucking awesome guitarist, but timmy, there is no one better.
Idiot.

Look, I normally dont say this without backing my argument up, but I feel you deserve it here. You may enjoy Tim's style more than anyone else's, which I can at least understand, but...

Youre on fucking crack.

You would never have heard the name Tim Reynolds if he hadnt played with Dave. I think the greatest guitarist of all time would stand on his own.
Ha...

<=== keeps from getting really pissed from elliot. . . .

also, I wish I didn't find him through dmb. But, when I got astral projection and other stuff by time, I didn't hear Live @ Luther, and I barely heard his stuff with dmb, I just was talking with a guy about this guitarist that played with dmb, and I checked him out, and I fell in love.

I guess I am alone, but from all I have heard and seen from both artists (including my mom who saw him with me, and has seen SRV, Clapton, Chet Atkins, , Tim Reynolds, George Harrison, and many others), but I just think Tim Reynolds is the greatest.
get pissed off sucka!

tim.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I don't remember where I heard it (probably a vh1 behind the music or something) but I remember someone saying that Santana was great because his soloing is so melodic, you can hum it or sing it. I think that's the difference between Tim and SRV. SRV plays with so much feeling that it sounds like the guitar itself has a voice, it's singing. You can feel the melody in his solos, you can hum it. Tim's stuff doesn't do that for me. It sounds right within the song, but it doesn't lead you anywhere. It's fast, played well, and adds another dimention to songs, but I don't feel like Tim's guitar is it's own voice when he plays.

you want voice, listen to trey on wolfmans brother, slip stitch n pass (track 2)... the licks he plays in that funk jam just really speak for themselves. I agree with you about SRVs guitar work (the melody/singing n all)...

I really think you guys discredit Tim though, in all honesty i think he could mimic a great amount of SRV to point where none of us could tell the difference, hes just that diverse... this doesnt mean i think hes better, SRV created something (or built off of Hendrix, whatever i dont care hes fucking awsome) and Tim has created his own style, theyre both great, better than all of us, and deserve all the attention theyve gotten.

as for those of you who dish it out about Tim not being good cuz he is not a star or whatever, dont you think he coulda just become an official member of DMB, rocked out on all the tours, then split and made it fucking huge? Of course, but fame doesnt mean shit to everyone, hes happy doing things his way, and we only know as much about an artist as they show... shit for all we know, dave can solo as good as Hendrix and just doesnt care enough about us to let us hear him rip it up... YouNeverKnow peace...

exactly, tim could mimic it, but stevie wrote it. they create different types of music and i dont think you'd ever hear tim write a SRV-esque song, not because he doesnt play blues but because he tends to play more fast and obscure rythms. but stevie is better, IMO

He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.
