his style reminds me of keller, but keller uses a 10 string to get that sound.

i read an interview wth keller on one of his fan sites... he talks about how he wishes he was a better player and could play melody and bass lines at the same time like leo kottke, kaki king, justin king, and michael hedges... he's pretty humbled by those guys, theyre in a league of their own

edit: oh yea, keller doesnt usually use drop d, he tunes everything down a whole step and loses the octave strings on what are normally the two E strings... crazy bass line skills

If Ah yes, tap/touch guitar. You should see timmy do it live on some of his songs. He also does that with kewl effects sometimes.

Also, if you like that touch style of playing, check out Greg Howard and his awesome Chapman Stick http://www.stick.com is the site of the instrument. It's designed for taping the strings, not plucking or struming. If you don't know who Greg is, he is an old friend of dmb and the dmb community from C'ville. He does work with Timmy, and produced some of his album, as well as tour with him recently. He was also a part of the first somewhat band Dave played in (I believe timmy, carter, and peter played). He has done Code Magenta with Leroi and Dawn Tomphson. Also, he played on the Dreaming Tree, and performed with DMB live with that song a few times.

Seriously, check him out if you like tap guitar.
Yes, I am in a box
