The Definitive How To Books for Guitar?

Unread post by Versacci41 » Tue Dec 02, 2003 10:49 am

What are the best books for guitar playing out there? I've been playing for a year and consider myself an intermediate player i guess (though that might be generous). I know a little theory but i'm interested in learning a lot more. I want to soak in everything. I've been playing all acoustic and i'm looking to get into some jazz and blues type stuff, and i'll be getting an electric soon.

get some guys together to jam one night a week and you'll move way faster than just with a book. books are so boring but if you can find some guys that jam, and just go into it humbly, they'll show you some stuff. it's like free lessons.

i have one called the complete guitarist or something like that. it's good, a little theory advanced though, it kinda assumes you know a little bit already. but it's a good book for learning different scales.

I wish jamming with a bunch of people was an option...it'll be about a month till i'm back up at school with my friends who play...i'm looking for something to supplement that for now i guess...
