Trick Daddy for guitar?

Unread post by avilla » Mon Nov 10, 2003 9:30 pm

So, I was sitting around today thinking to myself how much of a thug I am and then I thought, well...I should learn how to play the song. Anyone have any idea how to play "Baby Cause I'm a Thug" or want to try and figure it out? I'm talking about the little dingaly sound in the background, and yes, using the word dingaly does make you more of a thug.

I used to know Dro in the Wind...don't ask me why, but I stumbled onto it in my daily fiddling...If not that song, go with Nas "Thugz Mansion" It is half decent and acoustic based (you just have to be decent at finger picking and knowing scales to create fills). If you want, I might be able to create a tab for the latter, but the song you want...I duno

Thugz Mansion would be a cool little one to learn. I have tried looking around for a tab for it. But have come up empty handed every time. Anyone ever seen one or maybe PlayLikeDave could tab one out.

Yes App, only the select few can dubiously be called crazy. Furthermore I will take the next 10 minutes to try to make a tab for Thugz Mansion, as much as it would be to the dismay of some of the people on these boards...

A few things about this tab. I fingerpick all of this. The xxxxx mutes are all palm "slaps" that are very lite and well timed. The fills that come after each "picking" (like the 5h6p6, Ab arpeggio) is all my own work. You can fill that with whatever you think sounds good. Listen to the song to get the length of the vibratos. The earlier ones are shorter, while the xx6xx6 is long, long...And to get back to the Ab chord that you start with (all chords are held in the shape of a major barre chord with the base note on the low -deepest sounding- E string) I do a series of hammers and pulls from the Ab chord that start with the high E (4h6p4), to the B (4h6p4) and the G (4h5p4). Then repeat thru the entire song...
