Timmy, on the other hand, you can listen to his albums, and hear all the squeaking. It's a nutral part of playing strings that are wound. The only sure thing I have found that gets rid of it the most with just strings is flatwire strings. But, I havn't seen them for acoustic, I know gibson makes them for electrics. They are wound so tightly there is barely any grooves, but the frictions to keep your fingers there is gone. I saw, you have to deal with the squeaking, unless you can get flat wires or expensive effects to get rid of it. I personaly have no problem with squeaking.
elixirs are coated and coated strings have a deader tone. they are made to try and be brighter cuz the coating takes that away and they sound older. i don't know where people get the idea that elixirs are brighter but they just aren't.
