Question about a pedal i have

Question about a pedal i have

It is a DOD FX65. Someone gave it to me. Now i have never ever really used a pedal in my life. I was wondering does it need a power supply to it? or does it power off of the guitar chord?

battery operated in most cases

It will probably work off a power supply too. It's some kind of DC, probably 9V but you have to have the adaptor with the right tip.
