John Mayer - Love Soon

Unread post by nate » Fri Apr 14, 2006 2:05 pm

I am having the hardest time with the rhythm in the chorus chord changes. Would anyone be willing to post some audio or video of it. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

First listen very well to the song to get the rhythm. Focus on the percursive right hand.

Good luck.

Yeah I started to hear it a little better. I am almost there. I think it might be getting the chord changes to be a little cleaner that will help me out even more.

Here's a video that might help...You have to mute with both your strumming and fretting hands...

It starts on:

e----x---x----
b----x---x----
g----5---7----
d----5---7----
a----3---5----
e----x---x----

Then onto the chorus chords:

e---(3)--x---x---10----
b----3---7---8----8----
g----0---7---7----7---- (3x)
d----5---7---5---10----
a----5---5---x----x----
e----3---x---5----8----

Also, the move from the second to last chord to the last chord is half a beat faster than the other changes:

e---(3)--x---x---10----
b----3---7---8----8----
g----0---7---7----7---- (3x)
d----5---7---5---10----
a----5---5---x----x----
e----3---x---5----8----

-----------------^
