Sometimes I love Guitar Center...

This is the place to talk about guitar playing not done by Dave! Topics about techniques, styles, theory, and other guitarists go here.

I think he doesn't like the address/phone number thing. But even that isn't a big deal...if you're using a credit card, they'll know it anyway, and if you're not, then you're name's John Smith, 111 Main.
It's the combo of having to give my address, phone number and having to wait for someone to check my receipt after I pay for something. There are plenty of other places that I don't have to go through that process that I would rather give my business to.
Do you just go to Last Chance then? Thats where I got mine.
No I usually go to the Guitar Shop or Professional Music Center. Didn't Last Chance morph into Professional Music Center?

b-frost, Last Chance is/was a guitar shop in the Des Moines area.
i thought they moved to 86th street. I havnt been there in a while though.

I just got a Taylor 410ce and I was gonna buy it from GC, but they didn't have one at my local store. Plus, the guy that helped me (he was actually really cool) said they don't have any higher end guitars in factory sealed boxes, they're all out on the floor. If I drop $1700 I don't want a used one. Although the flip side is that you can go in there and play a 3k guitar and see what you like.

As for the address and phone they ask for, I always give out all 4's and tell them I only answer after the 9th call.

Most places will give you store credit, but you never know. The worst they can tell you is no, and you won't know until you try.

hmmm.... sometimes I give such great advice I almost think I should follow it.

everything worked out perfectly. i got a new keyboard. upgraded from the one i got for christmas..i didn't like it, it was not what i was looking for. i got a nicer one, a yamaha. sounds amazing and the guy at guitar center gave me an unbelievable deal and threw in 2 yamaha keyboard survival kits (case, stand, sustain pedal, adapter, headphones, rebates) for almost nothing.
