I am semi protective of my guitar. I mean if i am there, then im fine with it, cuz im usually all over my friends guitars lol when i dont have mine. But ya knwo how you play your friends and you suck but you play yours and your great.. i hate it when that happens. Like my first huge Dave playign experience with a guy names Bob after 9-6-03 at Alpine. I was on my friends guitar and he has one of those smaller ones and mine is bigger. SO i sucked for a bit til i could adjust to the size. but when i got going we sounded great!

Back during my freshman year of college (a long time ago), I used to let my roommate play my old acoustic - nothin' special, an old (American-made) Washburn D-10. Anyway, one time while I was home for a weekend or something he must done something to break the bridge. So, what did he do instead of telling me? Well, the asshole tried to glue the fucking thing back together in place - while it was strung! Well, as you can imagine the glue dripped into the holes and basically locked the endpins in place. Had to bring it to a luthier to have it all fixed. It only cost like $30 and it actually played better after it was fixed so I let that asshole off the hook. He just could've told me he broke it by accident...

hrmm.... here's one.

Around this time last year, almost precisely actually, I came home from work to find that my guitar had been stolen out of the back seat of my car. ACK!!

I had left it out of sight on the floor in the back of my '87 caprice wagon, but I guess somebody noticed it and decided to grab it. I still don't understand why.... this thing looked like a piece of crap!!! The case was tattered and torn, covered with stickers and pretty much every corner of it was held together with dirty blue duct tape. The guitar itself was no prize either.... dings and scratches everywhere... the top around the pickguard was almost eaten right through from letting too many drunk friends hammer on it around the campfire. It's a seagull with out a glossy top so its even more prone to dents etc. I mean,... the guitar was probably worth almost nothing at all..... the value was completely sentimental... actually... That's a lie... due to the amount it had been played and the fact that it had a solid top that was completely worked in, it sounded freakin' incredible!!

Anyhow,... first thing I did was put up a "REWARD" poster with a hand drawn picture of my baby on it. I never thought I'd see it again.
A week or two went by and I figured I was SOL. Then I got phone call from a dude saying that he found my guitar in a dumpster. :D YAY! In my add I'd said that I had no intention of procecuting and I just wanted my guitar back,... I even offered a $50 reward (CDN that is). The guy wanted to meet in a school parking lot even though it was like 10 pm.... I thought it sounded kinda sketchy, so I took a couple of buddies with me to pick it up. The dude that had it looked like a dirty punk kid, he probably was the one that took it in the first place. "I get the 50 bucks, right?" was pretty much all he said...

Hrm... sorry for being long winded... at least this was a happy-ending story... I still have my seagull today... athough it's been demoted to campfire-travel bitch,... 'cause my 714ce is #1 these days.

The moral of the story is:
Nude chickens always have the time to say "who ate my jalopy wingnut!?"

Thanks.

so you learned a 50 dollar lesson in how to lock the doors on your car. my buddy got his 2000 dollar stereo system jacked from his unlocked beauty. and insurance doesn't cover it when it's unlocked... you are very lucky.

but i agree with you. that dirty kid totally stole your guitar. nobody takes a guitar and throws it in a dumpster.

Yeah,.... funny thing is that he didn't take anything else. I had a $700 stereo and a bunch of CDs. He was also kind enough to lock the doors for me once he left... which totally messed with my head... I had to think about it for a while before I realised that I hadn't locked them in the first place.

Another thing that I thought was weird... when I got the guitar back... it had no strings on it... but it still had the string pegs.... I guess he wasn't a fan of my elixirs :?
peas out, yo.

I sat my acoustic down on a counter while i loaded a whashing machine with my laundry and some new fat chick that had just moved in smacked it with her gut and knocked it to the ground cracking the head stock and the body.

Hey, this way off topic, but I played a Hockey tournament in Guelph Canada. It was awsome too. Great and hilarious memories :D
