yea that sounds a lot like the bonus acoustic version on the Stop All the World Now album

I was wondering that too it looks like he throws in a few hammer-ons and changes the strumming a bit. I wonder how much different it is from the regular chords though.

Maybe it's a different capo position. I didn't watch the video.

I think on album version he plays Capo on the 4th fret and he plays a Gadd5, F#, Bm, then a Cadd9. On that video he has capo on 3rd fret and is playing Gadd5, D with his thumb holding the bass string on E and then hammering on the e with his pinky, then Bm, then Cadd9. I haven't played guitar for very long so I dunno.

http://www.fretplay.com/tabs/d/day_howi ... -tab.shtml

I use that tab, it sounds like what he plays on the album to me and seems more accurate than some of the other tabs for the song i've found.

How to play Collide 100% Correct

Unread post by DMBZeppelin » Wed Dec 14, 2005 7:13 pm

Ok I'm confident all of these are 100% correct. I know how he plays it on the album, and have watched him play it live on late night talk shows and MTV.com and such.

The following are just the chords he plays. Obviously you hit the low string as a bass note before strumming it.

Verse for Album Version
(Capo 4)
e --3--3--3--3--3---
a --3--3--3--3--3--
d --0--0--0--0--0--
g ---------------------
b ---------2--3--0h3
e --3--2--------------
Note: Last chord I show isn't an extra chord. Just how you can add in that hammer on effect that some of you seem to be looking for.

Acoustic Version on CD
(Capo 3)
e ------3-------2h3------3---0h3---
a ------3-------3---------3---1-------
d ------0-------2---------0---0-------
g ------0---0--0----------2---2-------
b ------2--------------2--2---3-------
e --3--3-------------------------------

Live he plays the C chord
e --3-----------
a --3-----------
d --0-----------
g --2p0h2----
b --3p0h3----
e --------------

Don't stop here..
(Album Capo 4)
e ---------------------------2----
a ---------------------------3----
d ---------0----------0-----2----
g ------2----------2--------------
b ---2----------3-----------------
e --------------------------------

Live On Capo 3 He either plays it as above or

e ---------3-----------3----2----
a ---------3-----------3----3----
d ---------0-----------0----2----
g --2--2--2----2--2--2----------
b --2--2--2----3--3--3-----------
e -----------------------------------

Hopefully this helps some of you out. I always read on the fourms but never post. So I made a name just for this purpose cause I know this is all 100% correct.

yea they don't have the acoustic collide though that is different chords.

The one above with the 3rd fret capo is just like the one I was trying to find how to play.

Sounds great 8-)
