Tuning Down 1/2 Step

Unread post by DSeibel » Tue Sep 27, 2005 1:24 pm

Just to confirm, to tune down 1/2 step I tune the A string to the 6th fret of the low E, and then continue tuning at the 6th (with exception of the B I would tune at the 5th). I am learning some Nirvana unplugged and they all seem to be tuned down 1/2.

Thx

Nah man you'd do it off the 4th fret to tune it down a half step. 6th fret would be a half step up. you'd fret the g string at the 3rd fret to tune the b string.

Sorry what I meant was fret the A string at the 6th fret which is E-Flat. Tune the low E to that (even though its an octave lower). Then tune the guitar as normally would at the 5th position (with exception of the B).
