first off.... no that is not me playing that song... i said i couldn't affors a microphone... how could i afford a camera... second... IMO... mayer alternates between the thumba dnd index continuosly.... and on every thumb there is a slap... the 0-3-5-8-10... he slaps and you hea the note.... every other time its just a thump or chacha whatever you want to call it... and ofcoarse there is no slap when he plays the 3 on the g on the 3x334x and 5x634x... does this seem to make sense.....

mofatt... have you been trying to finger pick before this song??... I suggest.t ry learning sexy plexi by jack johnson... he alternates between slaping low e and picking high strings... and its pretty simple and fun to play... get a live recording as the album is hard to hear the guitar atleast to me... or even your body is a wonderland whould help...
