reggae picking stylee (help!)

Unread post by waffle_house_jam » Mon Sep 01, 2003 2:42 am

disappointed with the dave scene for the moment, i've listened to a ton of reggae music. my question is, does anyone have any tips on getting that distinctive reggae-style picking down? and also, if you're into the same sort of music, do any of you know where to find some good tabs for lesser-known 311 and Sublime songs?
thanks...

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

im just gonna take a stab in the dark here with my advice...

since ska is derived from reggae, its safe for me to say to get the sound youre looking for you, you play the upstrokes and mute the downstrokes.
