Hi!
Could someone please explain what an arpeggio is? It would be greatly appreciated!

an arpeggio is going up and down the strings (picking)
for example:
you have a G chord. you basically do one down stroke and play every string but slowly. then once you hit the high e string you come back up.

arpeggios were like my bridge to soloing. for about 3-4 months whenever i was in a jam or with the band i would just pick notes in the chords. i liked to call this a "chord solo". eventually i found a couple different voicings for chords and then after a while playing a solo wasn't such a difficult thing cuz i had a good understanding of where to end my runs. definately something to pay attention to.

well, its not just in a certain order. basically using the notes in the chord to play a melody or solo is using arpeggios. when you play a chord slowly, picking every note, you are playing it arpeggiated.

damn straight. Also an arrpegio can just be the root 3rd 5th and octave, in a scale. But that's very basic.
