There's a man by the name of Monte Montgomery. His weapon of choice is an Alvarez-Yairi Acoustic-Electric guitar. The man blows people away. It's impossible to describe it any other way. I used to think no one could come close to Tim Reynolds 'till I heard Monte. The reason why I think Monte is the better of the pair, is because of the effects that Tim Reynolds uses. Although that's a pretty unique way of playing the acoustic, Monte is able to accomplish some of those effects without using those pedals(he only uses a compressor and sometimes slight distortion). The songs on his albums do not even compare with the things he can pull-off on stage(no pun intended...wait, yes it was..hah). The 3:00 minute pop-songs on his album somehow turn into 12:00 minute epics on stage. Monte's unique style of playing is what gets me going. He'll be shredding this amazingly fast solo, hit a harmonic, reach up with his left hand, bend the HELL out of the neck of his guitar to make it seem like he's usinig a tremolo-arm, and then go right back to setting the strings on fire. Monte throws in harmonics as much as possible, and the depth that he gets out of them is just incredible. Check this guy out, you won't be let down. 8)
