Online Jam Session

Hi folks, real green to these forums so I figured I'd start out with this. I've listened to a bunch of you folks from the Recording & Critique, now by no means do I consider myself as talented a musician as any of you, but I was wondering if you folks would want to get together on the internet one day and jam. You've got to have a mic to do this, but they're fairly cheap. I use a program called Ventrillo, I know there are others out there which I'd be more then happy to get if it suits you better.

Post if you've got an interesting in playing a little bit with everyone? I think it'd be great fun.

Cool idea! But... OH NO!! Sound quality kamikaze!!!

I might be up for it, Blend two inputs, talkmic and instrument direct in with electronics, might work pretty nicely.

Well I've done it several times before, but only with one other person. So I don't know how it would work otherwise.

I do play a lot of electric though, that's hot.

How do you do things like drums and stuff?

I'm proposing that everyone go and buy an ukulele and then we all can play Somewhere Over The Rainbow in sync!

Hehe.

We do need other players or something, a jam is only sucessfull with one improviser at a time really. Maximum of two I'd say.

The name I use in the ventrillo server is Vinas.

Edit: if you have a headset. it would make things sound a whole lot smoother.

i've never used ventrillo, but i know team speak well (i use it to play America's Army w/ my teammates) and there's a bit latency from ur speaking/playing and when u get the answer...

Ventrilo is really easy to get started with and it works great, almost better than TS I'd say.

There should be no latency at all.

If anyone is having trouble finding the software, it's "Ventrilo" with one "l"...
