can anyone play master of puppets by metallica? ive been able to play the first riff in the song but when i get to the part where he plays 0 1 on the E and then alternates between 2 3 4 3 2 i get screwed up... if i can manage to get through that the whole powerchord sliding thing gets my arm so incredibly warn out... anyone?

Are you talking about the intro or once it goes into the verse?

I used to be able to play the whole song through, when I was into metal maybe a year and a half ago. But since I got into Dave, I haven't been practicing my speed/downstroke-picking much.

My hand also got worn out though during the song. But some days for practice, I would just play through the whole cd. Maybe I should start doing that again, get my chops back up
:D

dude how did you build up the strength to do it? there has to be somethin other than just practicing the song that builds up the thresh hold of pain

Threshhold of pain..haha.
You know, I don't know how I could play it. I couldn't do downstrokes the WHOLE time, during the verse i would sometimes cheat.

Tommorow I will practice it and see if i have any tricks i used to use while playing it
