Wrist problems from Guitar Playing
Wrist problems from Guitar Playing
Hey guys since whenever im at my computer I have my guitar in my hand, and sine I work a job where all i do is type my wrist gets really sore at time, which led me to see the trainer at school who told me I have either tendinitus or carpel tunell, since hes only a trainer he doesnt see much of this so I still have to go to my doctor. But does anyone else get this, it seems to come and go often with me and its very annoying. I was wonderin if there was anything to do for it?

i've had mild wrist pain, which usually occurs after 3 or four days playing hard, with stretches. It always went away with a couple days of rest. Most people who say the have CT syndrome don't. It's simply what they have been told by unreliable sources. Since you have pain that could later cause CT, I strongly suggest some exercises to make your wrist more strong. Theres a great device made by metolius rock climbing company. Its basically a soft ball that fits in your hand, and it has rubber band like finger holes to create resistance on both sides of your wrist, ,,,,when you squeeze and spread your fingers out and open. Also pay attention to your left hand position when you play. In many cases, correcting posture will solve the problem. If found this link for you about the exercise ball that you should consider. enjoy

If you had carpal tunnel you wouldnt be able to play at all and think of tendenitis as if u sprained ur wrist it would all the time not just when u play guitar, golf or typing. It's jsut your hands/wrist are not use to the heavy strain your putting on them. you should lay off one or the other for a period and then whenthings are back to normal just go easy.
