WTF?!?!?!

Unread post by RickWarwick » Thu Jul 31, 2003 7:21 am

I'm new here and the guitar tabs are great but the most of the bass tabs are about as close to being acurate as black is white. Has anybody even tried playing the tab posted for Drive In Drive Out? I almost fell off my chair laughing. It always seems that the people who take the time to tab stuff out are also the tone deaf ones :P Anyhow, bassists, lets unite and clean up the "garbage" here!

Well at least we got people taking the time off to actually tab them out here. If you think you can do a better job, submit some tabs.

bassists who actually know what they're doing are next to impossible to find...the few that do aren't going to waste their time tabbing songs on a message board for people. and it's not like there's any big secret to bass...if you play guitar, you can play bass with just a touch of adjustment in technique.

I wouldnt say its just that easy buddy, theres a lot more to bass than just adjusting your technique a little.

play simple bass that is........ the change to bass is more of a theory change. What to play behind chords behind the root note? Keeping the beat? Rock bass is usually just the root notes of the chords but it gets a lot more advanced in blues and jazz.

Its a completely different feel as well. Just playing the root notes is not being a good bass player. Working with the drummer and rythm section is the backbone to bass playing.
