http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=music

Rap: A form of popular music developed especially in African-American urban communities and characterized by spoken or chanted rhyming lyrics with a syncopated, repetitive rhythmic accompaniment.

I wouldn't technically call it music... Whether it's good or bad is a matter of personaly opinion, but I'm being technical here. I mean, if you were to study music (musicology) rythm & percussion would only be a small part of it. There's a bit more that goes into but on the whole, nope.

I'm against all modern music... Anything you'll see/hear on MTV/VH1 is crap. I'm not biased, that goes even for Dave. Some of it's decent, but something's fucked when I could personally write an album in a day and with the right promotion, it could be a hit. I saw this video and all it was was this nasty looking whore saying "I'm really, really hot" over and over, then there were midget-ninjas? Give me a break. All of these bands coming out that all sound alike, all of these rap artists coming out that all sound alike -- they're not going to last because they're unoriginal and BAD. That shit is a dime a dozen; anyone with an ounce of musical knowledge could produce an album in a week. It's all bullshit and it pisses me the fuck off, but so does everything else these days in the US. God! People are so fucked up these days. Greed and mass ignorance is ruining this world. Fuck people. Fuck the US. I'm going to go live on an island in the middle of nowhere, I fucking swear. I need drugs to stabalize my blood pressure now. Fuck!

Anyone who thinks anything on MTV should be put in the same category as a great concerto/symphony is a fucking moron. That's like putting pie and shit in the same category; sure, they're both technically edible, but I'd only label one as a practical dessert. And if any smart-asses want to infer they'd eat shit for dessert at this point, go ahead.

True. I haven't seen Rachmaninoff on MTV in years.

Yeah they stopped showing his videos, his key changes were too controversial.

I saw Brahms on VH-1 yesterday, though.
