Most of his songs, he just uses cool strumming, hammer ons, and pull offs to make it sound better.
Outstanding guitarist.

I've had success with that site, I can't do all the hammer ons and stuff in most of his songs, but it still sounds good. And freeker just takes a lot of practice.6_strings_for_life wrote:i am a huge keller fan. I have been to that site and tried to play some songs like freaker by the speaker. I have had no success. His shit is so hard and those tabs on that site suck mule dick.. god oh god I wish someone would tab some of that mans song accurately..

I tabbed out his cover of Eyes of the World, The River, and could probably tab otu some more in the future...see if anyone around here still has my tab saved somewhere...
his stuff is hard to play, but with some practice and good rhythm you can get - what I call - his slap picking down...
his signature sound comes from a 12 string and I don't know of any songs that are in different tunings...
add slap picking to a 12 string and you can mimic his songs alot better...
I don't believe he ever uses a pick...alot of slap and hammer ons are vital, but tastefully done - you do have to get pretty aggressive with both hands confidently working together...lots of mutes too - they help keep the time (both right and left hand)...
if you guys haven't bought it yet, grab his latest live album "STAGE" and you can hear just how amazing he is...he has over a dozen instruments on stage that he plays and loops all by himself...
great musician...dl his Eyes of the World cover for a real treat...he also does some really great stuff with String Cheese Incident...
thats about all I know lol...hope it gives you a better idea of who he is and what he does

well I appreciate that, but I just remember my voice being so pubecent and my 12 string was cheap...had little to no sense of melody...but like I said, it gets the idea

actually he plays a 12-string with the octave strings on both E's removed, and almost always does play with a pick.... At least every time I have seen him he has, and all but one of the 9 or 10 times that ive seen him have been from about 6 feet away. I need to learn to do that raking technique, its amazing.firedancer86 wrote:his signature sound comes from a 12 string and I don't know of any songs that are in different tunings...
