Im sure there are plenty of musicians who play alot more than you & DON'T break their strings or picks.lyrics101 wrote:Seriously, do you people just never play? I go through two or three strings a week at MINIMUM, and at least a pick every two weeks. And I don't even play that hard, and fingerpick quite often.

Do you a nitch in your bridge? Back when I played a Stratocaster the bridge was fucked up in the stirrup of the B string, and it kept splicing the string because of a little nitch in there.DJR07 wrote:this is one reason why i don't play elixers any more - they feel great, sound pretty good too, but both times i've bought em i've broken the G string with in 5 days

Me too, but most of the people on this board react as if it's this rare, malevolent occurence that means something evil is on the horizon.DropD-MB wrote:Im sure there are plenty of musicians who play alot more than you & DON'T break their strings or picks.lyrics101 wrote:Seriously, do you people just never play? I think it stems from thme being novices at guitar playing. Probably tightening their stings too tight when putting them on is a factor to why they break. i couldn.t tell you the last time I actualy broke a string or a pick... It's been years.lyrics101 wrote:Me too, but most of the people on this board react as if it's this rare, malevolent occurence that means something evil is on the horizon.DropD-MB wrote:Im sure there are plenty of musicians who play alot more than you & DON'T break their strings or picks.lyrics101 wrote:Seriously, do you people just never play? a broken D string isn't uncommon there killer.dmbguitar718 wrote:what the hell? who breaks a D string?
Along with that, I broke 3 picks this week. what the hell? who breaks a pick?
I've been strumming as opposed to picking lately, so I can work on my voice. I guess I just rock out too hard.
the only ones i break are the D and the G.
and i break them every 2 weeks.
