It's just the string and the reflex it has when you pick it on that certain note... I've only broken one while tuning to raised B. Just dont strum so hard and hit the strings flatly.

Im sure there are plenty of musicians who play alot more than you & DON'T break their strings or picks.

Do you a nitch in your bridge? Back when I played a Stratocaster the bridge was fucked up in the stirrup of the B string, and it kept splicing the string because of a little nitch in there.

Me too, but most of the people on this board react as if it's this rare, malevolent occurence that means something evil is on the horizon.

I think it stems from thme being novices at guitar playing. Probably tightening their stings too tight when putting them on is a factor to why they break. i couldn.t tell you the last time I actualy broke a string or a pick... It's been years.

Along with that, I broke 3 picks this week. what the hell? who breaks a pick?

I've been strumming as opposed to picking lately, so I can work on my voice. I guess I just rock out too hard.
a broken D string isn't uncommon there killer.
the only ones i break are the D and the G.

and i break them every 2 weeks.

I hardly ever break strings and never picks. I play pretty agressively as well. Do you guys stretch your strings when you put them on?? might want to try that at the 12th fret
