I have pretty much stopped having stage fright after about 8 open mics. Experience is key. But the last one that I played, it was me and my friend John. I was playing guitar and he was singing. Well I was planning on doing a song called last goodbye by Jeff Buckley. And neither me or john has the voice to hit the high notes and I was going to do an instrumental. So we got done with two songs together and john introduced it while I was tuning for the song... and then he got up and went and sat in the crowd  all of a sudden the spotlight was all on me. I thought he was gonna just sit up there with me.... but I got through the song and did it well. What a rush . :D

i am scared of 4 people way more than i am of 400. wierd. it's like with a big crowd, their job is to shut up and listen. but with a group of friends...forget it.

in all seriousness the money probably helps. not in the greedy sense, but he has to know that all these people pay a lot and want to see him play, and extra confidence is never a bad thing on stage.

Yeah i don't think Dave is greedy , some musicians are but .... I just think in general that money makes it seem more attractive to go on stage , not to mention all those people just yelling and waiting for you and such , you quickly risk of becoming unpopular if you just said screw it all the time lol maybe people just say to themself " Hey lets just go out there , and while we're out there , we can think about what we're gonna go buy tomorrow for these money we're making right now "
