Battla of the Bands - A Day In The Life

Unread post by firedancer86 » Wed Apr 09, 2003 9:43 pm

Well tonight was it... I was at school a total (counting the normal school day) for 13 hours  . Let me start off by saying on my trio's behalf, WOW! Neon went over awesome and we played it so well (considering we learned it last night; neither of the guys had heard it before!). I was really feeling the groove on it and was doing some crazy Dave-like "jam-dancing" through it. From the trio with Neon, I invited/introduced the pop-icon in the school - this guy plays like Hendrix/srv and blows the place apart with solos on the fly (he knows absolutely no theory, just plays from the heart). When he came out I started the original (which I composed) and we jammed through the funky-jam band like riffs. The guitar soloist ripprd away and we had so much going (for lack of better terms) - we were feeling the vibe! After the best preformance that I have been a part of, then came the downer; death-metal bands. After a total of about 10 bands (10 min. each), the judges announced the winners - AND GUESS WHO WON :?: :!: :?:
The guys who played Megadeath! Followed by aband who is so well established that...well they have about 10 people in the band, and only one goes to our school - the rest are like in thier 40's!!! The next band actually did well...I liked their stuff...they deserved to at the least place in which they did. Well then cam the popular vote...(drum role please!) give a wild guess......................

.............You are correct! - the Mega Death throw backs!

and what did we get? Nada single thing...my life story for playing for the musically inept :?

Well I feel much better having got that off my chest...with that said, I'm tired, it's late, and I'm left with hours of homework...a day in the life...thanks for reading :)

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.
