Long Jam Middle
Played when jam starts to get fast
E:-------------------------
B:-------------------------
G:-12---7---6---2---2---4-- <---2
D:-x----x---x---x---x---x--
A:-x----x---x---x---x---x--
E:-12---7---5---2---2---3--
For those fingerings, are you just supposed to pluck the strings at the same time, or strum them? Plucking sounds super nice, but I know Dave's a strummer...
Also, what chord does
G:-12
D:-x
A:-x
E:-12
Equte to? Like 9-9 is A, 7-7 is G, but what does 12-12 roughly equte to? Thanks a ton if anyone actually knows what I'm even talking about

for your first question, he strums it but plucking does sound nice. also, I prefer to play an extra note in each chord as follows: it fills in the sound nicely for playing solo. I also do this in Two Step.
E:-------------------------
B:-------------------------
G:-12---7---6---2---2---4-- <---2
D:-x----x---x---0---0---x--
A:-10---5---4---x---x---2--
E:-12---7---5---2---2---3--
for your second question, 12-x-x-12 is Em. and actually 9-x-x-9 is C#m and 7-x-x-7 is Bm. G is 3-x-x-4 and A is 5-x-x-6. 2-x-x-2 is F#m or D/F#.
good, and you?

Thanks a ton. That really helped. I can strum it but just just doesn't sound full enough, but that's another story I guess:)

how else would you play two step? with only two notes? two step is supposed to be played like that...

oh yeah. you're right, the tab on here is the way I said it was. I think the two step tab on the old dmbtabs site was just two notes like in the Billies chorus and whatnot. but we've all seen dave play it and its clear that he uses the 3 note voicing (chord, whatever) for Two Step.
my bad.
good, and you?

i also used to play it with only the two notes...it was on some site a long time ago...i would watch dave play that song on that old "record exchange" video and wonder why he was using the fingers he did...

when the jam goes real fast he is strumming, but if you watch the live in chicago video, you can see that he plucks them when the jams gets real quiet...at the end of the jam he barely plucks just the bass notes of the chords.
