mute question

Unread post by rmoze21 » Wed Mar 26, 2003 9:01 pm

:?:

I'm a newbie to the guitar and have this question about a reacurring theme:
When people say a mute what exactly is it? How does one play it and is it the x that appears on the tabs?

Thanks for the help
Randy

instead of fretting a note, by pushing the string down to the fretboard, simply place your hand/fingero on the strings and strum. the x's correspond to which strings you will me muting on.
