Green Eyes

Okay, so I know this has been around the forum before, but I think it's still worth asking. Green Eyes by Coldplay = great song. I'm trying to do it solo acoustic w/ my Martin. I finally got the rhythm of the strumming pattern down, but I still have a hard time fitting the vocals in. I can sing with it and it sounds okay, but it seems like he varies the timing of his entrances each time when I listen to the recording. I keep listening to it, but it still hasn't clicked. Any suggestions?
