Pentatonic help

Unread post by dcanes » Sun Feb 29, 2004 7:26 pm

I just recently started guitar lessons and learned the pentatonic form.

What are some of your favorite solos using the maj or min pentatonic?
Any recommended websites for this?

Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated...

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

I think it's fun-- and inspiring... and after that I make it my own. I learn a lot looking at how people have used the form really well in the past. As a starting point... not as gospel.

my problem is that all i have is original stuff, so whenever somebody says "do you know such and such" all i can do is try to fake it and then not know how to play it and dissappoit "dee ladiees". i seriously know like 4 songs by heart and the rest i can review and then play in like five minutes but have really no clue just to play it. i need to get one of those fakebooks that were all the rage over here just a few weeks ago.

this isnt necessarily an "easy" solo, but the solo to hendrix's little wing is hendrix improvising over an eminor pentatonic scale
