Capo's and Music sheets
When you use a capo, A G chord form is no longer a G, its an A correct (with a capo 2nd). Then when you read sheet music and it requires a capo on the second, and you see a G, is it a G shape that you play or do you have to find the correct G chord in reference to the capo?
Re: Capo's and Music sheets
i haven't seen a time where the chords weren't relative to the capo.
so if you're sheet music calls for a capo on the 6th fret and it says G, then you just play a G.

Re: Capo's and Music sheets
if you are reading sheet music, i am pretty sure that if you see a g note written on the staff, you play a g-note. if you use a capo then you play a g chord, it will just be in a different shape than you are used to. if you are reading tabs though, then all bets are off.

Re: Capo's and Music sheets
Usually, the music will either say something like chords relative to capo (I have seen this in tabs), meaning that if there's a capo on 2 and it says to play a G chord, you use that G chord fingering (so the chord that sounds with the capo is actually an A, but written as a G). More commonly, if the song says to use a capo, it will say the capo'd chords to use over the measures, then also the actual chords in parenthesis in case you don't want to use a capo. It can be cool if you have two guitarists for one of them to play it with a capo, and the other to play the chords in parenthesis without one.
