DMBTabs.com will be moving to a dedicated server within the next few days. This should result in a much more responsive site and forums. However, in order to eliminate database overlap, the boards will have to be shut down during this move. Barring any complications, this will happen late tonight. Once they are down and transferred, the new site should start working after the DNS has fully propagated (could take as many as 3 days, although it usually only takes about 24 hours). We appreciate your patience in this matter, and hope you will enjoy the new server :)

Update #2 (5:41 AM CDT): The server is now up and running properly. Forums are back up and updated to phpBB 2.0.8. I made every attempt possible to retain all data, and I don't believe I missed anything. If you notice an abnormality, an error, or some other problem, on either the forums or the main site, please PM me right away. Expect to have some initial problems re-logging in and with cookies (as well as topic read markings), but these should disappear pretty quickly.

The only thing left now is waiting for the DNS to fully propagate around the world. This should happen very soon, but it *can* take a while. It's very possible and likely that during this period, some of you will be able to access the forums and new site, and some are unable to. This is just the way DNS works, and it will all be over very soon.

Thanks for your cooperation during this move.

Update #3 (11:10 PM CDT): All root servers now contain the accurate DNS data, so it should just be a matter of each of your ISP's updating their cache with the new IP address. Everyone will be back soon :D

Okay, boys (and girls). Just about everything should be up and running smoothly on the new server (again, please PM me if you find something doesn't work as expected). Now, for the biggest news of the night:

The time on the boards will forever-more be ACCURATE!

That's right, no more having to go into your profile to try to compensate for the hour the clock has drifted, none of that. Now, just set your correct time zone, and you're set :D

Here's a quick guide for everyone's appropriate timezone:
Pacific Daylight Time: GMT-7 Mountain Daylight Time: GMT-6 Central Daylight Time: GMT-5 Eastern Daylight Time: GMT-4
Keep in mind that if your area does not practice Daylight savings time, you should add an hour to the appropriate time zone. In addition, once we switch back to regular time, you'll have to change your time zone settings to adjust for that (remember that GMT doesn't change with daylight savings time, so we have to adjust instead).

Another day, another problem.

Sorry boys, due to a typo, Apache went down and wouldn't revive itself. We worked into the night to get it fixed and now we believe everything is working again. In the meantime, we upgraded PHP, MySQL, and Apache to their newest versions. There were a few security exploits that were all revealed yesterday, so we needed to do this in order to secure the server and all of your data :) We've also installed a few monitors and utilities that will make the server run even faster than before. Hope everyone did okay without the site last night.

Brock...don't know if anyone mentioned this or not, but it seems like since we switched servers the thing that shows if a person is online or not is gone now. Don't know if it is related to the switch or not.

Only reason for that is that we just forgot. We had to start the boards from scratch(in terms of code) so we lost all our mods. We´re both in Europe and will be getting back on the same day....I´ll add it when we get back.....thanks for the tip
