one of the best dave sites I've seen, ever! great job on the tabs, some live lyrics sound a little off, but overall, good show! I live in a predominatly punk and metal town, but when I start playing dave, people
just stop and stare in awe! thanx for your hard work and keep it up!

Stay or Leave

Unread post by reis-a-roni » Fri Dec 05, 2003 12:51 pm

First of all the new album is growing on me very quickly. I play acoustic and have always enjoyed Dave and Tim to the Band, though the Band is very good. I'm a bit disppointed to see Dave go electric a bit, but he's exploring so that is cool.

Anyway, about Stay or Leave. On the surface the song is about a woman leaving him. But Dave is married and probably past his days of writing about heartbreaks. Might it instead be about him leaving the band?

"Everyone wanted to be you and me" : the band's popularity

"Did I do all that I could have done?" : Where should I have led the band?

"What to do with the rest of the day's afternoon?" : what do I do now?

"hey isn't it strange how we change everything we played "

Just a thought. Would love to know if anyone else got the same vibe.

I thought it was "hey isn't it strange how we changed everything we did".

anyway, that's an interesting interpretation and like most of Dave's songs, they are open to several interpretations, and I think he intends them to be that way.
good, and you?

how about Some Devil. I tend to think its about his dad or sister. I never took a good look at the lyrics so I am probably wrong

Gravedigger acoustic is EXACTLY the same as the Gravedigger w/ band. Actually....the tab I have there is for the acoustic version becuase it was tabbed before the album came out. Here is the link: http://www.dmbtabs.com/song.php?sid=82

Site is unbelievable, completely professional and the new section (dave's gear) is the finishing touch. One thing though, Dave used to use quite a bit of Ovation guitars back in the day. If anyone has the Van Rypers Festival 4/5/92 on video, u'll see what I mean. Keep up the good work kanter. cant wai to hear more news on the DVD

I was wondering if you could get a tab of "Leave me Praying" by Dave...and perhaps "Waste" would be one that you could add to your site that is relatively easy to find.
