OSW:
what does dave use to mute the low E when playing the x6xxxxx? Is it the tip of the pointer or the middle/ring(as when he slides up from the 10 he rest his whole hand across the strings).
the fingering for WWBOM:
I use the thumb in the 354x3x.... I find it A LOT easier to get into than daves fingering as its just a C shape with the thumb. And I play the E with fingers 1 and 2 and use 3 and 4 for the B and E, again alot easier than dave barring the two with pinky. just thought i would share. Does anyone else do something like me? Are there any benefits to using daves fingering?

For OSW, I think he only picks the 6 on the A string. So there's no need to mute anything else.

I just assumed that he strummed the verse like all the other songs like the stone, wwys, etc....

dave is so precise with his picking, he doesnt really even need to mute for the stone, but for OSW laying your index on the six fret A-string will naturally mute the strings around

Exactly, he just takes a big wind up, for lack of a better term, even when he picks. It takes practice, but Dave's good.
