everythings fine except the verse.. cant play the verse... cant make the 2nd to 6th fret stretch... i doubt there is something that doesnt have as big of a stretch in that area, but is there anything that sounds the same/really close to it? i can make it if i spend 10 seconds positioning my hand there

try this: its still a little stretch though
e:----------------------------------
b:----------------------------------
G:-----3-----0---7--------4h5h4-------
D:-----x--9--0---7------------------9----
A:-----7--7-----/5-----7------------9---
E:--5--5--5----------8-------------/7---
and so on ...but its just the beginning stretch that you wanted an alternative for.
hope it helps

Shane, you must have tabbed that wrong, since the tab you put sounds awful. The first chord would sound a lot better as an A (instead of the A7 you have) and the last chord you have is a C and a C# - the real chord is a Bm which contains a B and a D. Did you by any chance tab that chord upside down?

I would say just learn the stretch. It may be a royal pain in the ass (and hand) for now, but in the long run you'll just be glad you learned it the right way. Initially I tried several different ways to play TB using fuller chords, etc. but it just didn't truly sound like TB until I got it down the right way.
