Equipment-wise I'm not sure what he uses as it's never been listed but he obivous has some kind of echo effect that gets mixed in once in awhile...definately in Grey Street. It's a lot more noticeable in the D&T sets for songs like Bartender, Passion Intro for Warehouse, and Minarets. Other than that I think he keeps it pretty much clean.

im sure there are lots of different effects he can throw in there, but it might just be a good EQ and maybe they might also use the aphex aural exciter (http://www.aphex.com/204.htm). Also you could run voice tracks threw a distressor, limiter or compressor, (http://www.empiricallabs.com/) (http://www.alesis.com/products/3630/) all these things will clean up the audio, either live or in the studio. Hope that helps.

yeah i'm sure he has some compression. you have to to level out the output in live stuff. but that is probably done at the board. also a good parametric EQ and an echo.

but defiantely compression. that adds a lot (or it kinda compresses so i guess it takes away but you get my point)

It did, but covering DMB songs will always leave you feeling like you didn't do it justice.
