Does Dave always play high?

It seems to me that most of the times Dave is high while playing live, he has all the references to pot in his songs, so it seems logical that he might smoke before the show, anyone have any thoughts on this?

I know for the last few years or so he steared away from it, but I'm not quite sure if he picked it back up or not... either way he fucking jams live! :-D

I need to find out when he's going on tour again! :-)

Just because he references doing the dooby in his songs doesn't mean he plays high all the time anymore. When he was alot younger im sure he did but come on the guys married with kids and has a stellar career going.

Yea I dont think he smokes before he plays, I would guess he drinks, but I remember in one of the interviews I watched he said how he smoked a joint on stage and zoned out and played the same riff over and over so I doubt he does

Dave could just be a goofy guy. Who says you need alcohol or drugs to act goofy? I'm not against doing any of the above, im no angel either, but i just feel there's a hell of a lot more out there than drugs and alcohol.[/quote]

I dont think Dave is that goofy normally, during interviews hes real chill, but maybe its just a way to deal with 30,000 die hard fans screaming at you, Lord knows I couldnt handle that

Well according to what i've read about dave(step into the light, the book, rocks house) and seen on TV about him, when he was younger, before he started doing drugs, and when he was a saturday night performer type person(he would perform in open stage theater and stuff) he was just a naturally goofy guy. he has a weird persona with him people that have acted with him before.. so i doubt he smokes/drinks before lots of shows now.. maybe the occasional show..

Dave is definitely a goofy guy. He's hilarious and very witty. I love listening to Dave speak...but the drugs have made him more weird than anything else. He went from hilarious(the 90s), to just weird(drunk man intro) and completely nonsequitur. IMO it's really not all that funny anymore, just strange and kind of annoying...and it's really quite pathetic when the crowd goes nuts just because they hear the word "drunk" or "fucked up" or "high". I just want him to get on with the concert. But hey, Dave will always be my fave!

if that's true, thne I must be baking every morning and on heroin and crack onstage. I am fucking more goofy than dave in life and onstage. I am sure he smokes or drinks now and then, but he doesn't do drugs as heavily as in the 80s and doesn't smoke as much since the early 90s. I am sure he does it with friends now and again, or maybe relaxing after a show. He is too much into it and accurate to be smoking so much before onstage. He wouldn't have the balance he has if he was so stoned onstage.
