Crush changes.....

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Crush changes.....

Also on the same dvd is the proposed Spoon difference, I noticed things during Crush also. First, I think the 2x5 chord

Code: Select all

Transition into Verse
E:----------
B:----------
G:-5-----5-- <---4
D:-5-----x--
A:-3-----2-- <---1
D:----------
Should actually be this

Code: Select all

Transition into Verse
E:----------
B:----------
G:-5-------- <---4
D:-5-----5-
A:-3-----2-- <---1
D:----------
Next, and I think this has been proposed before, but anyway, i think that this...

Code: Select all

E:------------------
B:------------------
G:---4-------5-------
D:---x-------x------
A:---x-------x------
D:---3-------5-----
Should be this

Code: Select all

E:-------------------------
B:-------------------------
G:---4---5------4---5---
D:---x---x------x---x----
A:---x---x------x---x----
D:---3---3------5---5-----

He plays it close to that at Farm Aid as well , but Jared's version is correct , we all know Dave plays things differently over time , he starts playing it one way , and later on a whole new way  But you are not wrong :)

I have always thought that the x2x5xx was really crappy sounding (no offense Dave or Jared). I have always played the x24xxx. That sounded so much better, and it is what Dave seemed to play in Storytellers and Farmaid too. But I have never seen older vids of Crush. Also, I think a good example is "After Her" compared to Satellite. Granted Crush wasn't rewritten to another song, but to here "After Her" is so bizarre, but I still like it.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": The food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.

For the second part you think needs changed, I, and others play

Code: Select all

E:---------
B:---------
G:--4--5--
D:--5--5--
A:--x--x--
D:--3--5--
I think that sounds pretty good, Im not sure if Dave ever plays it that way but I think he does.

Also, I just watched Crush on storytellers and it does appear he plays the first part -25--- as opposed to -2x5-- But as its been said, he changes stuff, so who knows, play it how you like it.

Code:

E:------------------
B:------------------
G:---4-------5-------
D:---x-------x------
A:---x-------x------
D:---3-------5-----

the 100% CORRECT TAB IS

E:-----------------------------
B:-------------------------------
G:---4-------5-----4------5-
D:---x-------x-----x------x----
A:---x-------x-----x------x--------
D:---3-------3-----5 -----5---

aol sessions video displays this clearly

as for the infinitiely confusing

x2x5xx, i think he just strums the 2, with it being

x25xxx to make it sound right.

Consider the tabs on these board extremely accurate "skeletons". You should always feel free to embellish them more.

xx4xx3 and xx5xx5 is right...the lyrics to that part go right along with the rythmn...you don't need the xx4xx5->xx5xx..
