The 7 on the G is also a D, so you can strum the D if you'd like. I do, it gives it a fuller sound.

Yup, I just mute the A string and try to either mute or avoid the B and high E strings. Very full solo sound.

This is just an ordinary Bb. you can also play it like 6887xx or 68x7xx. I mostly use one of those.

Yeah, the obsession with playing it exactly per Dave is stupid...what ever happened to making a song your own?

We-he-he-ell doc. I see you're paying lip service to your avatar.

Yeah, I like adding personal touches to dave songs too. you should see me watching listener supported. During the jimi thing jam, I'm watching the TV, guitar in hand, dancing around and playing all kinds of random riffs to the basic E to A progression of the jam. during BOWA, I add that C to D slide thingy dave does in TSJL to the last chord of the verse.

I somehow hardly manage to make his songs kind of my own.

i can't help but do it. i change many lyrics to fit my preferences of meaning, and some chords. though i do like to learn the 'original' as a base of reference.
god knows it weighs on me...as heavy as stone and a bone-chilling cold

I could never get the hang of Seek Up until I started playing with a metronome and made an important discovery...this song is in 3/4 time!! Who knew?? Well, maybe everybody except me. I always look for 4 beats to a measure in Dave's songs, but this one took me by surprise. Anyway, now that I count to 3 instead of 4, everything has clicked into place.

If you don't own a metronome...get one. It has made a huge difference in my playing.

Yeah, I should alter it to say "Play ALMOST like Dave"
