why did he do a solo album????? it's the same sort of music as DMB albums (to a certain extend)

he said in an interview that some of these songs were tried w/ the whole band and it just didn't work right. so he came up w/ some stuff and played them by himself. not really a big deal. if you ask me, it's a lot different than most of the dmb stuff. but some of it is really good. just different.

It has kind of a country sound to a couple of songs...i like the CD, and all the different variations.

i dont either, i thought it was very strange to not hear a sax or a violin playing in the songs

I really loved this album. It was almost nice to have an alternative to DMB after Busted Stuff and Everyday, two albums which I didn't really like all that much.

I like the little sax parts in the background in Dodo.. just little toots and woots..:-p
its a great album, but is nothing like dmb to me...

Some of it reminds me of DMB, but not most of it.

As to why, probably because he felt like it. He's a musician; he tracked an album; that's what they do.

really? almost every song i hear reminds me of The Maker. you know that old folky stuff. i don't know why, i just think its all simple lyrics and mostly simple guitar parts. kinda basic stuff (other than the background instuments) i think its dave matthews adding pop to folk music. just my opinion.
