What happened to the Spirit of Freedom & Democracy????

i'm a little confused...but i don't have time to read all the posts on this issue.

Q: certain members/moderators of dmbtabs.com started a tab site for John Mayer songs?

Q: assuming they didn't steal the plan or tabs directly from kanter, how is it wrong for them to do this?

Q: how does a Mayer site have any bearing on dmbtabs.com whatsoever?

Q: wouldn't banning these people be a rather dictatorial thing to do, even if it is feasible?

i'm impressed with kanter's work in creating the tabs and forum.

i'm not a big Mayer fan, and would probably spend little time there. but i don't see why anyone would be banned from this site for starting a tab site for another artist.

i think people should be banned only if they are truly disruptive to the site: being openly racist or otherwise intolerably offensive. and even then, a democratic vote by all site members would not only be appropriate, but also American.

unless this whole issue was trumped up as a consipiracy to waste people's time... well, either way.... i'm surprised.

how about a little more focus on the music, instead of feuds? how about people spending a little more time sharing and voluntaring their knowledge of how to play dave's songs?

sometimes i wonder :?

A: jmtabs.com wasn't started by people here. Some of them became moderators on the boards there, I believe.

A: there is nothing wrong with it

A: because some dmb fans aren't too fond of mayer, and also since it has a same type of url as this site, and that the set up is a little the same.

A: they were never banned. It was all just a joke they were playing with, both sides of the line. I was confused at first, but it was all fun and games


We are all friendly and joking around here. When you see such an outrageous fight, it's most likely just people playing around.




We are all fine here, don't worry :)

And if you keep asking questions like that, I will ban you! :lol:

Since as you said you didn't have time to read the whole threads...you kinda missed everything. I'll clear it all up for you. I never banned everyone. I was just messing around and having fun w/ a few of the regulars around here. I worked with the guy who runs jmtabs.com to get his site up and running(a little bit) and helped him along with some ideas. He even asked me if he could use the name "Accurate JM Tabs". The entire thing was all fun and games and no one was ever banned. I would never do anything like that and have still not banned anyone in an entire year of these boards....even during some rough times. Anyway, I understand you didn't have time to read the whole thread but posting stuff like this...when you don't know what's going on...just might get you banned :D.....that was a joke by the way...I hope you get this far :D

What's your favorite type of cheese cake? I pesonaly love dark forest, mmmmm, yummy. Also, I had some cheese cake my mom's friend made for my birthday instead of a cake. It was chocolate chocolate chip cheescake.
