Playing Dancing Nancies Accurately?
Playing Dancing Nancies Accurately?
Hi there,
My apologies if this has already been discussed, but I can't find my question anywhere else on this board.
There's an amazing live (all acoustic) version of Dancing Nancies out there that I'm trying to play properly. I can play all the notes, but there's a slapping technique that Dave uses here (once every 4 beats I think). There's a bit of reverb or echo, so it accentuates this a little more. Does anyone know what he's doing here?
I'm having problems viewing the avi videos on this site, but the audio comes through on them. I don't hear the slapping I'm talking about on the example on this site. Any other videos anyone can recommend to figure this out?
Thanks a bunch!
One more thing - if the guy who owns the site "Cricket's Cave" is reading this, can you put your cover of Dancing Nancies back on? From what I've been reading it's very good. I'd like to hear it.

and the quick little ring at the end of each note can be made by pressing down on the 2nd fret on e and b strings (at very last moment of each chord - bar)

One thing I wondered about nancies is does dave use the side if his finger to hit the high B and e strings on the ----00 ----22 thing?
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

pretty sure its just the e and B strings... I have heard that Dave switches up how he plays it... sometimes he uses the lower part of his index finger, and sometimes the tip of it... I have a vid of him using the tip.
