John Mayer a better guitar player than Tim Reynolds?
It seems that everyone thinks he is better than Dave. Is he better than Tim? Tim uses a lot of effects and technically Im not sure if hes better?
comparing apples and oranges. tim is a different kind of guitarist completely 180 degrees.
EDIT: and by the way, im freaking sick and tired of hearing about JM for real. why can't we compare other guitarists? like bob dylan and dave, or willie nelson and dave, or johnny cash and dave..you know, some actual dave influences. dave matthews probably doesn't even know who Jm is (not that he isn't good enough, that's NOT what im saying). im just saying lets compare some better guitarists. some legends. anyway.

as far as the question at hand is concerned, i think subotai, you are crazy. Tim is much better. Steve vai, santana, clapton, hendrix and Tim is one group that can all be called masters, some have even called them gods. but Dave and JM are not on that level in their guitar playing. they are great artist but their guitar is nothing compared to the "greats".
Tim has speed, scale knowledge and effects knowledge all on his side. JM doesn't stand a chance.

Ok...Post something this horrible again, and it might be possible God, Allah, Vishnu, whoever, will erase you from existence. Tim Reynolds understands probably all and uses almost all keys, scales, modes, etc...He has so much speed and accuracy it is sickening. He makes me want to chop my hands off because I am disgracing the same type of instrument that Tim uses. Check out http://www.timreynolds.com to find out more information about him, but he fingerpicks most of his songs. That is disgusting in its own right. Please, never make me think of such an idea that John Mayer could possibly be better than Tim Reynolds. Evil

I love you oh so well, like a kid loves candy and fresh snow.

Honestly DMBtabs.com goers, I do not mind comparing people, but do we have to try to figure out who is better than who? It seems like a waste of time. I like the idea of comparing Dave and Willy Nelson per se, but you shouldn't or have to say, "...therefore he is the better guitarist." That is just impolite to both Dave and Willie. I have said enough
